TOWN Hall leaders are keeping their fingers crossed after a money-seeking mission to London.
They met Phil Woolas, local government minister, and pressed their case for a better deal from the Government.
Up to 75 jobs, plus £10 million of cuts, are threatened after Bury received the worst provisional settlement in the country. The Government will confirm its figures by mid-January. The team on Tuesdays visit comprised council leader Wayne Campbell, his deputy Mike Connolly, chief executive Mark Sanders and finance director Mike Owen.
Coun Campbell said: "We were pleased with the reception that the minister gave us and he was certainly in listening mode. We believe we put forward Burys case in the best possible way and hope to receive a positive outcome."
