BORO fans had their chance to grill manager Kevin Glendon and chairman Bernard

Manning Jnr before the Lincoln United clash earlier this month.

Glendon explained that the club will be setting up a reserve team for next season, under the guidance of current Youth Team manager Pete Lofthouse.

The manager said: "A reserve team would allow first team players that are on the bench or returning from injury to get some matchfitness and we could also bridge the gap between youth team and first team for some of the younger players."

The idea of a press officer was also suggested but the manager felt the club's website and local press covered all of the club's activities to an extent where there wouldn't really be a need for one.

The club admitted they are looking at alternative revenue streams to bring money in, with some of these plans yet to be finalised or cleared.

The manager also gave an interesting insight into the sums involved with paying players. Without going into the figures, Boro lag behind in their payroll because they prefer to keep a sensible rein on their finances - as opposed to other clubs who are going for broke.

They stressed, however, that they are prepared to loosen the purse strings should the right player become available.

The manager also said: "I didn't think that the Conference North would have quite the impact that it has.

"To get into the Conference North would be a massive achievement for us because it has become the Conference in my eyes.

"Most of the teams in the Conference are now fully professional and that is a massive step up in class."
