TYLDESLEY RU secured a vital 35-5 win with an outstanding second half performance against visitors Widnes at St George's Park.
An even first half saw two Ashley Worsfold penalties just shade the half for the home side.
However after the break that all changed as the Tyldesley forwards, with Aaron Botherway in commanding form, punished some slack play by the visitors time and time again. The first try was a classical backs move with the ball swiftly moved across the line for winger Eddie Wallbank to score in the corner.
Further confusion in the Widnes midfield saw prop Darren Edge pressure the defensive line, allowing Lee West to touch down under the posts. Tyldesley dominated the tight play and further pressure up front allowed the ball to be fed to Mark Dickinson who finished with some aplomb out on the left.
Widnes managed to score a controversial try with 20 minutes of the game remaining but undeterred Tyldesley moved back up the field and swift hands again in the backs and good support play saw Jon Fisher cross the tryline.
With five minutes remaining Tom Cartwright capped a fine all round team performance when he galloped in from 22 metres out.
