TURKEY traders are braced for the busiest time of the year.
But it will take a family with a giant appetite to snap up a whopping 65lb bird on sale at Premium Fish and Poultry in Ashburner Street Market, Bolton.
Owner Peter Kay said: "I bought the turkey from Chelford Agricultural Christmas Show in Cheshire which I helped judge.
"It is a fantastic bird - the champion - but I will probably end up losing money on it as it cost me £85. I will probably sell it in cuts.
"Customers usually leave their food shopping until the last minute because they want it as fresh as possible and don't want it taking up all their cupboard space."
Carl Gibney, manager of Fred Brandwood High Class Butchers said: "There are lots of good bargains to be had throughout the market. It is my second Christmas here and it is busier than last year."
