BURY'S health agencies have been working hard to make sure they are prepared for the increased demand on patient services during the winter months.
Bury Primary Care Trust (PCT), together with the Acute Trust, Mental Health Trust and Social Services, are investing extra resources to ensure medical and nursing staff are available to quickly assess and treat patients.
People with chronic illnesses and those over the age of 65 have been offered flu vaccinations, as have medical staff.
The PCT is running a publicity campaign to advise patients where to get treatment out of hours and over the holidays. Patients are also asked to look out for Bury's 'Your Guide to Local Health Services' in the Manchester North Yellow Pages.
