Heaton Park's golf course has been voted the best municipal golf course of 2005 by readers of GOLFPUNK magazine.
The 18-hole course was designed by five-times Open Champion J.H. Taylor and opened to the public in 1912.
It will host the 2006 Faldo Series North West Golf Tournament as well as the Manchester Municipal Golf Challenge.
Brian Dique, general manager of Playgolf-Heaton Park, said: "We are delighted to have won this category. I hope more people will try the wonderful facilities at the Heaton Park Golf Centre."
