FOUL language towards a police officer led to a £220 fine for a Whitefield man.
Dean Alexander Heywood (25), of Rydal Grove, had failed to answer a summons in respect of a public order offence but the case was found proved in his absence by Bury magistrates. In addition to the fine, £43 court costs were imposed.
Mrs Jacqueline Stott, prosecuting, said a police officer was in Victoria Lane when there was an incident culminating in Heywood using foul language towards the bobby when there were children nearby
