NCA North Merit Table: When Sedgley were heaved off their own ball at the first scrum, with Doncaster's opening try following a few minutes later, the game had the look of a serious mismatch.

And so it proved, but not before Sedgley's pace and ability to make much out of little possession earned them four tries and had kept them n the game until half-time.

Right-wing Andy Dowell seized on a dropped Doncaster pass to sprint 70 metres.

The visitors hit back with a try from a five metre line-out catch and drive, but Sedgley's locks combined well in open play, Andrew Clegg making the run and Joe Redfearn scoring the try.

It was not surprising when Doncaster took the lead once again, with power and good ball retention.

What was surprising was that Park then took the lead with a spectacular length-of-the-field touchdown of their own.

Left winger Jamie McAndrew picked up a loose ball near his own line and made good ground.

The ball was transferred quickly across the width of the pitch and Dowell again showed his strength, bouncing opponents off before finding No8 Matt Lamprey in support.

Tom Albinson's third successful conversion put Sedgley 21-19 ahead.

Not surprisingly the visitors proceeded to keet it tight, their big lock galloping over for one try and the pack collectively driving a maul 20 metres for another.

A scoreline of 21-31 at half-time quickly became 2138, as a Sedgley handling error was punished, and the game was over as a contest.

However, Park's determination held the visitors to just two more scores, while Sedgley full-back Ian Hinkin picked up a loose ball to get a consolation try.
