WELL, here we go again, more cameras to be installed, this time to stop drivers in bus lanes - how ridiculous!
Take St Helens Road as a prime example.
It as a narrow road to start with, with a bus lane going into Bolton, and cars parked on the other side. So a driver driving towards Bolton has to go in the outside lane between certain hours to avoid the bus lane, or get fined. A large vehicle coming towards Atherton from Bolton cannot stay in its own lane on account of parked cars, so it invariably has to go partly into the outside lane going the opposite way, and so the poor car driver has to veer into the bus lane to avoid being hit - or does he stop dead?
This is an excuse to get more money out of drivers. It will not work, full stop.
Parking in bus lanes should be stopped as well - all of it, and I mean all of it.
