BOLTON North-east MP David Crausby wants more to be done to stop animals being abandoned at Christmas.
He has thrown his support behind a House of Commons motion urging people not to buy pets as presents.
Mr Crausby said: "There are always a high number of abandoned pets over the Christmas period. Greater education of potential owners and licensing of pet vendors would help to reduce this."
