WOMEN leave hundreds of pounds worth of clothes gathering dust and unworn in their wardrobes.

It is said on average they stash away 14 items that will never see the light of day. Is that all?

Over the years that can add up to a waste of thousands of pounds - and it's mainly due to irresistible bargains and as a result of diets that don't materialise.

Guilty. Over the years I've bought loads of what turned out not-to-be-bargains that I would slim into and never managed.

Shoes top the list of unworn items list, surprise, surprise.

Men though are nearly as daft. A survey by the insurers Churchill reveals they hoard an average of nine unworn things, mainly shirts (and probably ones bought that someone else likes as presents)

The company says people just dont realise how much money they are throwing away.

They don't until they grow up and realise that clothes dont actually maketh the man.

Another poll by Jockey shows that women spend over £18,000 on undies in a lifetime compared to a mans £1,200 - and men can keep their pants for up to 12 years.

So would I if mine lasted that long, they come in holes in no time. Anyway as a lifelong member of the big knicker brigade I've always worn sensible undies for comfort and not for show.
