FIREFIGHTERS freed a man and a woman who were trapped in a lift for more three and a half hours.
The duo were stuck on the first floor of the flats complex in Ryecroft Avenue, Tottington, on Monday.
Despite banging and sounding the lift alarm, the couple's plight went unnoticed for some time by other residents.
A Bury fire crew was eventually called out and officers freed the pair.
Watch Commander Roy Grundy said: "The woman who is disabled, and the man were stuck in the lift from 11.45am until 3.30pm. The lift alarm was not loud enough."
