PAUL Jewell has a string of injury doubts ahead on Saturdays clash with West Brom.

Striker David Connolly is definitely out with a hamstring injury, while Lee McCulloch is a major doubt.

Winning goalscorer Paul Scharner is standing by to make his full debut for his new club while Leighton Baines is pushing for a recall after a hamstring strain.

Despite leading his side to within 90 minutes of the Millennium Stadium with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the Carling Cup semi-final at the JJB on Tuesday night, Jewell is in no doubt about where his priorities lie this season.

He added: "The Premiership is the Holy Grail for us and we all know that anything that comes after survival is a bonus.

"You will see by the crowd that was here against Arsenal and the crowd that will be here on Sunday.

"Okay we wanted to win the game but I wouldn't swap cup success for league survival. I want both but the league is more important. The league comes before the cup."

With injuries biting his small squad Jewell is anxious to add up to four new players during the January transfer window but insists he will not be rushed into acquisitions.

Portsmouth's Matt Taylor is the latest player linked with a move to the JJB Stadium and Jewell admitted: "We have been close to one or two deals and they haven't happened.

"We are quite well off for defenders if everyone is fit but we are not too well off for forwards or players in the wide areas. But it is important I don't get frustrated and make the wrong signings."
