BURY branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) has been presented with a new Standard- a ceremonial flag.
The previous Standard was dedicated in 1966 prior to the British Legion being given the Royal title by the Queen and has also become weather-worn over the last four decades.
On Sunday, Reverend Stephen Harrop at St Stephens Church in Bolton Road, Bury, dedicated the new Standard which bears the group's Royal title and will be used in future parades.
It was paid for by Tottington and Bury West Rotary Club whose members have been staunch supporters of the branchs annual Poppy Appeal collection. The old Standard will remain in St Stephen's Church.
