SOME stranded passengers who left their cars in airport parking lots will not have to worry about being hit by massive charges when they get return.
Airparks, which operates car parks at Manchester, Gatwick, Birmingham, Luton, Cardiff, East Midlands, Glasgow and Newcastle, said it will waive any costs for extended parking for customers who cannot get back to the UK because of the airspace closures.
They have also dispensed with its cancellation fees for people who cannot give 24 hours’ notice if the volcano forces them to change their plans.
Airparks has seen a 450 per cent increase in calls from customers who want advice about their booking.
Boss Howard Dove said: “Hopefully, this will alleviate some travellers’ worries.”
