TV and Video Direct, Bolton and Leigh
FAMILY-owned TV and Video Direct has grown from one shop to four separate divisions in just 14 years.
In July 1996 a lifetime ambition was realised by Jim Brown and his two sons Matthew and Daniel when they set up their first shop in Leigh.
The company now has two showrooms in Bolton and Leigh and a third retail store will open in the new development at The Rock in Bury on July 16.
The company also has four separate divisions including retail, internet/mail order, custom install/home automation and commercial/business to business. The commercial arm of the business has continued its expansion securing Blue Chip accounts.
And the company also provides a one stop shop for the betting industry offering full planning, design and building services.
The company also recently won a contract to supply Scottish and Newcastle Brewery pubs with screens for the World Cup.
Founder Jim Brown has worked in the consumer electronics industry since leaving school in 1961.
Over the years he gained experience in every aspect of the business and prior to starting TV and Video Direct, he worked as operations director for a large national retail company.
The firm believes that Intelligent Technology Solutions (ITS) offering bespoke and total home automation, encompassing home cinema, intelligent lighting, multi-room audio visual and state of the art security, is one of the next major growth areas.
Operations manager Matthew Brown said: “We put our success down to lots of hard work, a fantastic team offering the best possible service, and always going the extra mile for our customers as well as offering top quality products at competitive prices.”
