A SPLASHTASTIC fundraising event went so swimmingly for four generations of a Kearsley family they smashed all their targets.
Five-year-old Regan May and 11 supporters aimed to swim 10 miles in three hours at Farnworth Swimming Pool yesterday, but swam 14 miles in two hours.
Regan, who goes to St Stephen CE Primary School earned his 100m swimming badge. The effort is expected to raise £500 for Help For Heroes, a charity which helps wounded service personnel.
Also taking part were Regan’s father, Scott May, aged 24, his grandmother Kay Grindley, aged 44, and his great-grandmother Ros Wharton, aged 68.
Mrs Wharton said: “It was a marvellous effort from everyone, especially Regan.
“We would like to thank our local police community support officers Darren Bratby and Neil Wogan.”
