KEN Holt, former president and chairman of the Association has died. He was 80.

A former player with Barton Hall, Ken quickly established himself as an outstanding administrator in the game.

He became league chairman from 1968 to 1971, before being appointed president in 1972, a position he held for 25 years.

Ken was also a tireless worker at county level. He was initially appointed to the Lancashire Cricket Association, rising to become chairman. In 1996 when the Association was renamed as the Lancashire Cricket Board, Ken became vice-chairman and later a vice-president, a position he held until his death..

Ken leaves a widow, Alice, and a son and daughter. The funeral will be held on Thursday at Peel Green Cemetery, Eccles, at 11.30am
