FIVE days of truly 'Glorious' action get underway at Goodwood tomorrow, where the Betfair Cup is worthy highlight on the opening afternoon.

The seven-furlong has attracted a quality line-up but preference is for the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Iffraaj.

The five-year-old is going to win a very nice prize sooner rather than later and was a shade unlucky not to do just that in the July Cup last time out.

Travelling strongly from the off for Frankie Dettori, he was just caught flat-footed at a crucial point but was flying at the finish and would have overhauled Les Arcs in another stride or two.

That was over six furlongs so the return to seven should suit and he is a major player as long as the ground stays fast.

The BGC Stakes, more familiar to the racing fraternity as the Gordon Stakes, can go the way of Sixties Icon.

The Galileo Colt has made rapid strides since winning a Windsor maiden, finishing a highly-respectable seventh in the Vodafone Derby before taking close order behind Papal Bull and Red Rocks at Royal Ascot. He had a fair bit to do turning for home and in hindsight did well to finish as close as he did in the King Edward VII Stakes.

Sixties Icon is open to more improvement still, especially on what should be a surface with a touch more juice in it.

His trainer Jeremy Noseda can make it an opening-day double with Bahama Mama in the Betfair Molecomb Stakes.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit has only been beaten once in four starts in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.

She finished sixth, beaten around four lengths, behind Sander Camillo, who is undoubtedly the best two-year-old filly seen so far this term.
