SOAP star Richard Fleeshman will be a star guest at the Adlington and District carnival later this month.
The teen heartthrob, who is better known as Craig Harris in Coronation Street, will be crowning the carnival queens on Saturday, August 12.
The weekend carnival event, which will be held on the Jubilee playing fields, off Park Road, Adlington, will include a big top and an 8ft robot, as well as bands and other entertainment.
The carnival, which has been running for over 30 years, had to be cancelled last year because of lack of volunteers, but this year organisers hope it will be a great success.
Jennie Snape, one of the organisers, said: "We are expecting thousands to turn up as it usually a big event.
"We hope that Richard will bring in a lot of people and that the weather stays fine."
Admission is £3 on Saturday, August 12, and £2 on Sunday, August 13. Programmes are on sale in shops in Adlington for £3, which allows free entry on both days.
