PARENTS looking for activities for younger children in the school summer holidays are invited to take a stroll in the park this month.
The Bolton Literacy Trust has set up a series of free fun events at four different parks, all with themes linked to author Julia Donaldson's popular Gruffalo books.
The friendly monster will be featuring in activities for under-12s, while parents can have a go at a quiz on the planet earth as part of RAW the national reading and writing campaign run by the BBC which has Bolton Literacy Trust as a partner.
The events, which run from 1pm to 3pm, will be held at Heywood Adventure Playworld in Great Lever on Monday, August 21; Leverhulme Park, Breightmet on Tuesday, August 22; Sunnyside Community Park, Great Lever, on Wednesday, August 23, and at Morris Green Park in Great Lever on Thursday, August 31.
Go along on the day or ring Jackie Cairns at the trust for more details on 01204 332013.
