FRED Dibnah's classic phrase "Did you like that?" is etched on the memory of those who watched his wonderful TV programmes.
Now that famous saying will be immortalised forever by being carved in stone on Churchgate's newly revamped pedestrian area.
Six other phrases, including ones from Bolton-born comedian Dave Spikey and TV sports commentator Kenneth Wolstenholme, will also be carved on plaques on the pavement.
It is fitting that Fred's catchphrase is remembered, as he did more than anyone in recent times to put Bolton on the map. But it is also good to see ordinary folk's sayings, including contributions from children.
