A HAIRDRESSER is swapping her scissors for a bike as she prepares to cycle across India.
Hazel Bullough will cycle almost 265 miles in 10 days in a bid to raise money for Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust's Women for Women appeal to fund research.
The 39-year-old will have to cycle up to 50 miles each day while on the adventure in November.
Mrs Bullough, who owns a mobile hairdressing business, will be staying in a range of accommodation, from tents to palaces, but she is relishing the challenge.
She said: "I enjoy cycling and I jumped at the chance. I love travelling and have been to India before, but not to many of the places I'll be visiting, so it will be a fantastic experience."
The women-only cycling challenge covers 425 kilometres through Rajasthan from Agra to Jaipur. Mrs Bullough will be leaving her husband Adam at home in Smith Lane, Egerton and needs to raise £2,700 before the trip. She is asking local people and businesses to help.
To sponsor Mrs Bullough you can post your donation, made payable to The Institute Trust Fund, to 59 Smith Lane, Egerton, Bolton, BL7 9EZ or contact her on 01204 300151.
