STARRING in a pop video is just a dream for most teenagers and professionals can spend years waiting for their big break.

But for a group of talented dancers from Bolton, the dream has become a reality.

Six teenagers have been chosen to star in a music video to go with the forthcoming song Music n' You, by Bolton-based music production company Jamcat.

Julie Doyle, Fidell Brown, Daniel Jennings, Laura Beattie, Nicola Loftus and Siobhan Dandy, who all live in Bolton and are aged 16 to 17, are members of Discomania Dance School in Churchgate in the town centre.

Ann Weall, dance teacher and owner of the school, said: "One of the members of Jamcat teaches guitar to a pupil of mine and it was through him the dance school got involved.

"It was very exciting. We have had dancers go on to individual things, but nothing as a group."

Jamcat visited the studio to handpick the six dancers to star in the video.

They spent a morning at a unit at Bolton Enterprise, where the company is based, making all the right moves, to form part of the music video.

Mrs Weall said: "They were expected to spend a whole day there, but because the dancers got everything right on the first take, they were only there for the morning.

"They did a number of dance routines, including club dance. They absolutely loved it and were so excited at taking part in a music video. I was so excited for them. The whole thing happened so fast."

Nicola, of Heaton, said: "I had no idea that when I was at the dance class, we were being talented spotted.

"I couldn't believe it when I found out that I had been chosen for the video. Filming for the video was so exciting, I wasn't nervous at all. I can't wait to see the finished product."

Fidell, of Deane, said: "I was quite nervous when we went to shoot the video, but then I just got into my dancing. Dancing professionally is an option but I want to finish my studies first."

Jamcat is the brainchild of a British record producer-writer who works under the name The Jamcat.

He said: "I have already seen the footage of the dancers from Discomania and they look fantastic. What a great set of people.

"I hope this helps them as they are a bunch of nice people who are very professional in their approach."

The dance track features vocalist David Lee Andrews, who has worked with some of the top names in the industry, including Stevie Wonder, The Jacksons and Chaka Khan.

The single is set for release on September 18 and the video will be aired on TV music channels a month before the CD comes out.
