ONE of the biggest betting races of the five-day Glorious Goodwood meeting is the totesport Mile and it is just the type of race Sir Mark Prescott excels in.

In Spectait, Prescott looks to have a very well-handicapped tool after his recent run in a Group Three on the all-weather at Lingfield.

He was a fast-finishing fifth behind the Godolphin pair of Echo Of Light and Satchem in the Summer Mile and there are plenty of other formlines which give him an excellent chance in this handicap.

Godolphin thought highly enough of the winner to send him to the Group One Sussex Stakes, while Notability and Stronghold - third and fourth home respectively are well up to Listed class.

On that day, Spectait also finished in front of Suggestive, who advertised the race as a decent formguide by chasing home Iffraaj in the Betfair Cup on Tuesday.

Although there is an argument the Spectrum gelding is better on the sand than turf, he is still taken to provide handicap-king Prescott with another big pay day.

Marcus Tregoning has a three-year-old filly of enormous potential in Makderah, who can land the Group Three Oak Tree Stakes.

Enormous is certainly the word and she stands over 17 hands high.

Having beaten a field of colts to win her maiden, she then failed to stay the 10-furlong trip in the Fillies' Trial at Newbury.

Dropped back to a mile for her latest start at Royal Ascot, she travelled like the winner for a long way from the coffin-box draw of stall 19.

However, she found little close home and was run out of it.
