PAUL Scott will not stand for any Crazy Gang style nonsense when the Shakers go to Milton Keynes for the first time tomorrow.

The club formerly known as Wimbledon and now managed by Martin Mad Dog' Allen, are expected to be a tough prospect on their own turf this season as they look to bounce back into League One at the first attempt.

Allen has said he wants to re-ignite the spirit which saw the club climb through the divisions and into the top flight in the 1980s, but Bury defender Scott has said the Shakers will not stand for any of the strongarm tactics which made the old Dons formidable opponents.

"They will try and intimidate us, we know that," he said. "But they can do that all they want, it won't make a blind bit of difference.

"We can't let anyone walk all over us.We will stand up for ourselves and get a result."

Manager Chris Casper strengthened his hand yesterday with the loan signing of striker John-Paul Pittman from Nottingham Forest.

The American will sign initially on a one-month loan deal, and Casper said the deal represents the desire at the club to avoid a repeat of last season's fight against relegation.

He said: "I have been very happy with the players I have brought into the club, and one thing I can assure fans is that we will be giving it a real good go this season.

"I'm not going to set myself up by saying we will do this, and that, but I am sure we can improve on last year."

Casper was thrust straight into a survival fight when he took over from Graham Barrow in September 2005 and has admitted he still has much to prove.

"It is a big challenge for me this year," he said. "They say knowledge is power, so perhaps a few of the things I learned last year will stand me in better stead.

"It is a massive responsibility being manager of a football club, and you must always aim to improve."
