BOLTON North EastMP David Crausby, has shown his support for The Big March, run by the charity Beat Bullying, by signing a Parliamentary motion.

Tens of thousands of people signed a petition asking the Government “to take immediate action to protect children and young people from the bullying, violence and harassment of young people, by young people”.

Each individual was able to create an online avatar to represent them and they set off on a march across the internet.

The avatars marched to many well known websites, including Google, YouTube and Facebook.

They then arrived at the No.10 website to hand over the petition.

The Early Day Motion, signed by Mr Crausby, recognises the campaign and asks the Government to hold a crossdepartmental reviewinto howanti-bulling efforts can be improved upon in schools and communities.

Mr Crausby said: “I was happy to support this campaign and I hope the Government will take note.

“Not only was the Big March innovative in its approach but it has a serious message behind it.

“We need to look at our current legislation to make sure that we are doing all we can to protect children from bullying.”
