A SPECIALIST company that supplied mechanical and electrical plant solutions has ceased trading with the loss of 38 jobs.

All Facility Services, at Comtech Business Park in Manchester Road, Westhoughton, had a turnover of £12 million a year when it went into liquidation on December 15.

Paul Flint and Brian Green, from KPMG Restructuring in Manchester were appointed joint administrators.

It is believed the company was forced into liquidation by non payment of large contracts, which caused cash flow problems.

The company, which began trading in 1990, was a specialist in fire protection, air conditioning and mechanical and electrical plant solutions.

It also offered heating and ventilation services to the commercial and industrial sectors throughout the UK and Europe.

On appointment of the liquidators, the business ceased to trade immediately.

Most of the 38 staff were made redundant just 10 days before Christmas.

But KPMG Restructuring retained three or four staff to help liquidators realise the company’s assets.

All Facility Services originally started trading as a tool and plant repair and maintenance company.

It later evolved into supplying and maintaining air conditioning units as well as designing and maintaining hi-tech fire protection systems.

At its height, the company pledged to offer the highest standards and incorporate environmental best practice.

All Facility Services had also patented its Coolfire product, which offered a combined sprinkler and chilled water product.

This had interest from major companies both at home and overseas.

The joint administrators are now seeking individuals or companies who may be interested in acquiring the assets of the business. Any interested parties should contact Mike Holford at KPMG on 0161 2464000.
