A 180 METRE long ski slope is to be built amid a real snow Alpine village next to the Trafford Centre.
Costing £31 million, the Chill Factor development will also house shops, bars and restaurants.
There will be two zones - a cold area for sports such as snowboarding, skiing, rock-climbing and tobogganing with inter-connected real snow slopes and a children's snow-play zone, and a warmer "apres-ski" leisure area, featuring Alpine-themed bars and restaurants with panoramic windows and balconies overlooking the slopes.
The entertainment complex is expected to open in October 2007.
David Sterland, managing director, said: "We are confident that we are creating one of the country's most outstanding leisure venues."
