Horwich Harriers youngsters produced several impressive performances at the first outside track and field meeting at Blackpool.

A club record was broken by a fantastic winning run from Katie Shingler in the Under-11s girls 80m sprint with a time of 12.40.

Katie also won the 600m in 2m 2.5 and third in the long jump with 3.29m.

There were other wins for Joseph Howe in the U15s boys 1500m in 4m55.30, while his sister, Phoebe won the U15 girls 1500m in 5m21.20. The U15 girls javelin was won by Natassia Dacre with a throw of 26.36m.

U11 Boys: James Keating 80m 13.70 600m 2m21.30 long jump 3.03m.

U11 Girls: Katie Shingler 80m 12.40 600m 2m02.50 long jump 3.29m, Helena Norris 80m 12.80 600m 2m17.20 long jump 2.97m.

U13 Boys: Harvey Haworth long jump 3.87m.

U13 Girls: Ellie Dacre 80m 12.80 70mH 16.00 600m 2m32.10, Emily Shelmerdine 70mH 15.90 600m 2m09.80.

U15 Boys: James Lovell 100m 13.40 800m 2m33.90, Joseph Howe 1500m 4m55.30. U15 Girls: Grace Shelmerdine 100m 14.20, Kate Clementson 100m 14.60, Phoebe Howe 1500m 5m21.20, Natassia Dacre javelin 26.36m discus 16.85m, Senior Women Tiffany Dacre 100m 14.00, Kelly Laughton 80m hurdles 15.30.

The 23rd annual Roddlesworth Roller 6 miles multi-terrain race took place near Abbey Village on Sunday with more than 200 runers taking on the challenging course.

Seven Horwich Harriers took part with Rob Jackson leading the way in a fine 3rd place overall and first vet 45. Phil Dewhurst in 10th, fourth vet 45, and Paul Boardman 15th, sixth vet 45, combined with Jackson to give Horwich the first vets team prize. Ian Hamer finished 17th, 7th vet 45, Karl Ward 20th, Lyndsey Brindle 44th and fifth lady and Brent Brindle 55th, thrd vet 55.
