SIMPLY outstanding — that was the verdict of education watchdogs when they visited Croft House Nursery.

The nursery received the top mark from Ofsted, who stated: “Overall, children play and learn in beautiful stimulating rooms with drapes and quality resources.

“They have free flow access to outdoors and fantastic support from highly skilled staff as they develop the necessary skills for the future.”

Inspectors stated the highly skilled nursery staff promote children’s learning with “outstanding success”

in the “superb learning environment” and as a result are at an advanced stage of learning for their age.

The nursery’s links with parents was also described as “outstanding”.

All areas of the curriculum were praised from literacy to numeracy, music and teaching youngsters about leading healthy lifestyles.

Owner, Janet Lomax-Baker, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded Outstanding by Ofsted for the second time.

“The dedicated staff at Croft House have a passion for Early Years and this is reflected in their provision of a happy and secure environment for the children.

“Many of our staff have worked here for a considerable length of time and we are committed to staff development and nurturing individual strengths.”

She added: “We have extremely supportive parents and other family members, who regularly contribute to nursery life.

“We also have good links with the wider community who help us to enhance the rich learning environment we aim to provide for the children.”
