A PROFESSIONAL cage fighter who was working as a doorman used excessive force when throwing out a customer, a court heard.
Howard Lees was working at Durty Gurty’s, in Bradshawgate, Bolton town centre, and was asked to remove drunken Diane Wood from the pub.
Bolton Crown Court was told she was not going willingly.
But he grabbed her and threw her through the door and she fell and broke her upper arm.
The incident happened on February 26.
Lees, aged 40, of Coppull Hall Lane, Chorley, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm.
Stuart Duke, defending, said Lees has lost his doorman badge as a result of the conviction and is now living off benefits.
He was given a 12- month jail term, suspended for 18 months, and was also ordered to go on the thinking skills programme, be under supervision for 12 months, and complete 150 hours unpaid work.
Sentencing, Judge Charles Bloom said: “When she refused to go, you went over the top and behaved inappropriately.
“You seized her, threw her through the door and she fell and was seriously injured,” he added.
