A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man died from “internal injuries” at his home.

Police believe 25-year-old Kieran Large may have been beaten to death.

Mr Large was found dead at his house in Richmond Drive, Leigh, at about 1pm last Monday.

Police were not initially treating his death as suspicious, but the nature of the investigation changed when a post mortem examination showed Mr Large’s injuries were consistent with being attacked.

Det Insp Ian Fields said: “A Home Office post-mortem examination has revealed that Kieran died of injuries consistent with an attack, so it is important we establish everything that happened to Kieran in the days and weeks leading up to his death.

“I would appeal to anyone who has information that could assist our investigation to come forward.

“We are also actively trying to find Kieran's family and I would ask that if anyone is reading this appeal and if you knew Kieran, or are a family member who has not seen him for some time, that you call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 0161 872 5050 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and was yesterday being held in police custody for questioning.
