MAJOR roadworks will close town centre streets next month.
work is to take place to improve two roads as part of Bolton Council’s ongoing investment in the town centre.
The whole length of Bridge Street, and Deansgate, from its junction with Bank Street to Bridge Street, will be resurfaced on October 9 and 16.
In order for the work to take place safely, road closures will be in place from 7am to 6.30pm on both days.
Deansgate will be closed at its junction with Bank Street and Churchgate, and Bridge Street will be closed at its junction with Bow Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained and a signed diversion will be in place via Bank Street, Manor Street and Bow Street.
Bridge maintenance work on Bank Street caused traffic chaos earlier this year.
The £300,000 three-month scheme saw improvement works carried out on the bridge, to upgrade it and make it safer.
