A SCHEME to keep Bolton people warm in winter will be launched tomorrow.

Toasty Bolton, which means people can apply for free loft and cavity wall insulation, is being launched in Victoria Square.

The scheme offers insulation for free to all private residents, regardless of age or income, subject to a free home survey and availability. The council believes it could help people save hundreds of pounds on their fuel bills.

Cllr Ismail Ibrahim, said: “It is vital Bolton’s residents are aware of the importance of insulation, and the ways they could save money and keep warm and healthy.

“The campaign will make sure residents have all the information available to them and I would urge anybody who would like to find out more to come down and find out more.”

A house can lose up to 60 per cent of its heating through its walls and roof.

Insulation can help householders save up to £250 per year on their energy bills.

Mr Toast and the Get Me Toasty team will be in Victoria Square on Thursday, between 10am to 4pm, to give free advice to householders.
