A MAN was caught after his young victim revealed in a Doctor Who chatroom that he was being abused, a court heard.

A jury at Bolton Crown Court was told how a 13- year-old boy was touched by Akbar Abdollahi on four occasions between September 2010 and January 2011.

Abdollahi, aged 31, of Lever Park Avenue, Horwich, denies four counts of sexual activity with a child.

Robert Golinski, prosecuting, told the court that in the first two incidents Abdollahi touched the boy over his clothing. But in the second two incidents Abdollahi removed the boy’s lower clothing and his own, only to be interrupted before the abuse became more serious.

“Perhaps the defendant was slightly emboldened by his contact with the boy,”

said Mr Golinski.

The boy told his schoolfriends what had happened but police only became involved when the teenager went on a Doctor Who internet forum and mentioned the alleged abuse. His post was read by the forum’s moderator “That person saw the comment and thought that was something that needed to be looked into and the police were contacted,” said Mr Golinski.

Abdollahi was arrested but denied touching the boy.

“He says the whole thing is a malicious invention by the boy,” said Mr Golinski.

The case continues.
