AMIR Khan will make his return to the ring on Frank Warren's end-of-the-year show in London on Saturday, December 9.

The Bolton boxing sensation will be on the undercard of the heavyweight clash when Commonwealth champion Matt Skelton defends his title against Audley Harrison and Scott Harrison defends his WBO featherweight title in an all-British fight against Nicky Cook.

The 19-year-old has just returned from a fact-finding tour of the USA where he had a private meeting with former heavyweight legend Muhammad Ali.

Scot Martin Watson has challenged Khan to face him in his first eight round fight at the London show at the ExcCel centre.

Watson believes he is the man to inflict the first professional defeat on the Olympic silver medallist who has won all nine of his professional contests so far with seven by stoppage.

"I'm here, I'm available, willing to fight him and I won't be there just to show up and get beat. I would be pressuring him from the first bell," said Watson.

The 25-year old from Coatbridge is a man of few words but could never be accused of having a sporadic work rate as the high tempo he sets in the ring, and the bombardment of his rivals has seen him win 14 bouts, six inside the distance, with three losses and one draw.

Watson's challenge comes after Frank Warren's protge demolished Ryan Barrett in one round in his last appearance at Bolton Arena at the beginning of September. The Scot also defeated Barrett earlier this year when he won on points over 10 rounds.

Watson added: "I've seen a few of Khan's fights on TV and some of his opponents seem to be so intimidated that they are beaten before they get in the ring. I'll be the exact opposite."
