A PRISONER escaped from police when he jumped from a moving car.
Kevin Downie, aged 27, was travelling in a silver Citroen people carrier along the M60 near junction 21 at Chadderton when he complained of feeling unwell at around 3pm on Tuesday. He pretended to be sick out of the window so the car pulled on to the hard shoulder. Downie then opened the door and jumped out as the car slowed down. Downie, who is from the Manchester area, was on a temporary licence release at the time of the incident and was returning to HMP Grendon, Aylesbury, with prison officers following a resettlement visit.
