Bolton Under-15s hit the goal trail with a 6-3 victory against Oldham in their Greater Manchester Schools League match on Saturday.

The lads, who lost 5-1 to Salford in their opening game, made a fine start and raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Matthew Farnworth (Turton), Adam McMahon (Withins) and Kingsley Redford (Little Lever), before Oldham pulled one back through Jason Hill on the stroke of half-time.

Oldham grabbed a second goal five minutes into the half through Niall Walker and then equalised through Ryan Taylor.

But Bolton sealed a fine win with three goals in the last seven minutes through Redford, Pat Latham (Canon Slade) and Jack Burke (Thornleigh).

Bolton U14s defeated Oldham 3-1 at The Arena. Bolton suffered an early set back when they went behind after three minutes but hit back to level the scores through Aidan Sockett (Withins) on 32 minutes.

Bolton edged ahead 15 minutes into the half through Nadir Patel (Sharples), and then made certain of victory with another Patel strike late in the game.

Bury U15s had to be satisfied with a share of the points when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Tameside at Derby School.

The u14s were not so fortunate though, going down 4-3 to Tameside at Richmond Street Playing Fields.

The lads made a dream start when Ryan Ford (Tottington) gave them a first-minute lead but Tameside bounced back to take a 3-1 half-time lead. The hosts grabbed their fourth just after the break but Bury set up a thrilling finale with two goals in the last five minutes from Mark Broderick (St Monica's) and Adam Booth (Tottington).
