EAGLEY consolidated their mid-table position in the West Lancs Premier Division with an excellent 4-1 win at Wyre Villa.
The Villagers dominated the early stages and went in front on 31 minutes through Liam Carr's 25-yard free-kick. Within two minutes Eagley had doubled their lead when Carl Grimshaw headed in from close-range after the goalkeeper could only parry Clint McCloughlin's shot.
The second half started badly for the Villagers when after only a minute hesitancy in the defence allowed Mark Banks an easy chance to reduce the arrears for Wyre. But Eagley made sure of the points after McCloughlin struck twice in the final four minutes to send the visitors home happy.
Eagley Reserves suffered a 3-2 home defeat against Fulwood. Liam Stewart and Brad Darby were on target.
Eagley entertain Charnock Richard on Saturday, while the second team travel to Burnley United. Both games kick-off at 3pm.
