VIDEO footage shows a man buying alcohol in a Bromley Cross shop then handing it to a group of youths outside.
Given the amount of trouble being experienced by residents at the hands of drunken underage gangs, buying drink for them is highly irresponsible.
Quite rightly, the police are searching for this man. If you know him you should give his name to the police.
Young people who hang about in gangs on street corners need something to do - but it does not have to involve alcohol. Perhaps residents and councillors should get together and organise decent youth facilities.
The privately-owned Bones skate park, a popular venue with young people, was allowed to close. As a letter to The Bolton News pointed out, to have kept it going would have cost a few thousands pounds, but to build a similar facility will cost hundreds of thousands.
Where is the financial logic in that?
