Bob Dylan in Bury? Not quite, but the next best thing...
Bob Dylan Day at The Hark to Towler, Tottington, near Bury is putting on a Tribute to Bob Dylan Day on Sunday, October 15, from 2pm.
This is part of the national Oxjam Festival, a month long event raising money for Oxfam, and is expected to attract hundreds of Dylan fans and musicians from across the region.
Organised by Bolton singer/songwriter Alec Martin, the event will feature live music and rare film footage the man who is generally held to be the world's greatest songwriter/performer.
A feature of the day will be the fancy dress competition, where people are invited to come dressed as a character from one of Bob Dylans songs eg Tambourine Man, the Joker etc etc. Prize for the most original.
