A BENEFIT cheat has been given a community order after failing to tell Bolton Council when her husband received a pay rise.
Nafisabanu Patel, aged 27, of Lloyd Street, Sheffield, admitted at Bolton Magistrates Court that she committed the offence between February 2, 2009, and March 1, 2011.
The increase in pay affected her entitlement to housing benefit and council tax benefit.
She also admitted a charge of failing to notify the council that her child tax credits had increased, affecting her entitlement to housing benefit and council tax benefit.
Patel was ordered to obey a curfew between 8pm and 7am until August 26.
She was also ordered to pay £200 costs.
