A CAMPAIGN to promote new jobs and economic growth by investing in housing is being supported by Bolton North East MP David Crausby.
The Get Britain Building campaign is calling for the Government to kick start the economy by building new affordable homes.
It is estimated 100,000 homes will be built in 2012, but at least 250,000 new homes are needed this year in order to meet demand.
Mr Crausby said: “The living standards of Bolton residents are being impacted by the double-dip recession. We are facing an unemployment crisis and a housing shortage.
“An investment into affordable homes would help us to tackle them both.”
