ARMED robbers stole cash during a robbery at a betting shop in Bury. Two men, one armed with a machete, burst into Taylormade Betting in Chapel Street, Tottington, shortly before 9.10pm on Monday.
The man with the machete jumped onto the counter while the other man demanded cash from a member of staff. The pair escaped on foot towards Holcombe Road with a quantity of cash. Both men were white, slim and of average height. They were wearing hooded tops and balaclavas. Det Insp John Mazzolai said: “The offenders have threatened a lone member of staff with a large machete. Although he was uninjured, he has been left understandably upset. “I want anyone who may have seen two men loitering in the area before the incident or who may have seen them running off to contact police.”
