A SCHOOL is appealing to the community to help raise £75,000 to repair the roof of its sports centre.
Turton High School found out that significant repairs were needed after recent work was carried out at the school.
In order to fund the repairs, the Parents’ Association is appealing to local residents, sports centre users and businesses for donations.
Since taking over the running of the centre in 2012, the staff have increased the range of activities available and, according to the school, the centre is busy every evening and weekend.
Activities at the Bromley Cross Road centre include swimming, fitness classes, martial arts and football.
People who wish to donate £35 or more can have their gift commemorated with an inscribed block which will be displayed on the sports centre corridor.
