A DERELICT library building is thought to have been an arson target last night.
An old sofa and some rubbish was set on fire in the old Great Lever Library last night, leaving the building smoke logged.
Fire crews from Bolton Central and Farnworth Stations responded to a call about the fire in the Bradford Road building at about 1.30am and were quickly able to bring it under control.
Watch manager Ian Ainsworth from Bolton Central said the fire is believed to be deliberate.
Greater Manchester Police has been informed of the fire.
