LEVELLING was going well at this spot in Bolton.
The picture was taken in June 1971 as Bolton’s new fairground site was under construction.
We can see Waterloo Street in the foreground and Kay Street is in the distance.
The fair was a popular attraction in Bolton over the Christmas and New Year period and well attended by local families who would tuck into black peas and play the many games on offer.
