Love Island viewers were left baffled once again last night after it was revealed that Molly knows new Manchester bombshell Leah.

In Tuesday’s episode (June 13), Molly said she was her “friend” who she knew before the ITV show but said she didn’t look the same because she had darker hair.

Molly said this as she peered through the balcony railings to watch Leah as she chose three boys to date including Mitchel and Zachariah.

It may not come as quite a surprise to some though, as Molly, 21 classes herself as part of the “social media” circle and Leah, 27 works in social media marketing.

However, how do the two islanders really know each other?

Love Islanders Molly and Leah know each other in the outside world

It turns out the girls are both signed to the same agency and have met in the outside world from attending several events together, reports The Tab.

One particular meeting was at former Love Island favourite Molly-Mae Hague’s Beauty Works event in 2021.

At the time, Molly shared a picture with Pretty Little Thing’s creative director Molly-Mae on Instagram.

Fans have been deep diving on their profiles as in December, Leah who is also pals with ex-islander Maura Higgins posted some holiday snaps, to which Molly commented: “I miss you.”

A source told The Sun: “Part of being an influencer means meeting lots of people at events but Molly and Leah became actual friends.

Molly will be shocked to see Leah come in but it’ll be great for her to have some support.

“She’ll be able to rely on Leah for a real opinion on her current love triangle with Mitchel and Zach.”

They aren’t the only pair who know each other outside the villa as Ella and Tyrique announced they have previously “met in London.”

In an awkward encounter by the pool when they first met, semi-professional football player Tyrique said he didn’t recognise her but viewers later found out this was
because Ella used to have blonde hair instead of brunette.

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
