Although we are treated to an episode of Love Island almost every night throughout the week, some fans may be wondering why it doesn’t air on one evening.

Last night, one of the newest bombshells Charlotte along with Andre were dumped from the villa in Mallorca by the islanders.

The group had a tricky decision to make after three girls and three boys were left vulnerable due to a public vote.

The girls had to choose one boy out of Zach, Andre and Sammy to leave while the boys had to choose one girl – either Charlotte, Leah or Catherine.

However, viewers will now have to wait to see the aftermath of the dumping due to the show next airing on Sunday (June 18).

What day is Love Island not on?

On Saturdays, there is no ‘official’ episode and instead an Unseen Bits show is broadcast from 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

Love Island 2017 winner Kem Cetinay spoke on This Morning back in 2019 and revealed the islanders reportedly have a day off from filming while they leave the villa so the cleaners come in.

According to Planet Radio, Kem said: "They give you one day off. You get one day off per week. What happens is, it gives them a day to clean the villa, and you take your mics off, and normally we go to the beach.

"So what happens is, when you take your mic off, you are not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show, you have to talk about home life.

"You are being watched by the producers, because they don't want you to talk about what is going on. They are quite careful about what you talk about, because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see it."

Meanwhile, Millie Court who won Love Island with partner Liam Reardon in 2021 gave fans of the show some more juicy gossip when answering a Q&A on her YouTube channel, reports The Mirror.

When speaking about their “day off”, she explained: “Sometimes they would tell us halfway through the day so we’d stop for lunch, then the producers would come out and be like ‘so guys today is a chill day’.

“We’d all be like ‘woo!’ and we’d know that we weren’t being filmed and didn’t have to do anything.”

She also said they would just “chill round the pool”, adding: “You’re in your bikini from the morning so we would just all chill. There was no pressure.

“Most of the time we’d spend it in the pool mucking around. It was so relaxing.”

According to Millie, the reality TV stars were also allowed to order plenty of takeaways and treats when they weren’t filming.

She said: “Most of the time it was McDonald’s. We’d all request McDonald’s. We were all just gagging for it.

“We’d get ready for bed early. Put our pyjamas on or our loungewear sets and eat our McDonald’s.”

Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX tomorrow from 9pm.
